1. Homemade trail mix

Anbara dates are perfect for making a homemade trail mix. Remove the pits from 10 Anbara dates and chop them up into small cubes. Chop up 20 cashews and 20 almonds as well. Add ½ cup of roasted oatmeal to the rest of the ingredients and mix everything together. Put the trail mix in an airtight container or resealable bag and take it with you for hikes or snacking during the day. 

2. Add them to breakfast cereal

Dates are great to add to breakfast because they provide a lot of energy. Whether you eat oats, cornflakes, or any other type of breakfast cereal, you can add two or three Anbara dates to it to provide you with a boost of nutrition and energy. Remove the pit from the Anbara date and chop it into a few pieces and add it to the cereal before adding your choice of milk.  

3. Fruit salad

Pour the puree into a saucepan along with ½ cup of water and 4 tablespoons of sugar. Boil the mixture until the mixture reduces to a thick paste. Pour the mixture into an airtight container. You can add this to any chaat or eat it with papad or any other chips. 

5. Roasted stuffed dates

Roasting Anbara dates transforms them into a juicy gooey caramel-like texture. Take a few Anbara dates, cut them in half, and remove the pit. Add one cashew into each half of the date and put them on the baking tray.

You can sprinkle some kosher salt on top of the dates if you like. Roast them in the oven for 20 minutes at 185 degrees Celcius. Let them cool down before digging into these delicious snacks. 

Anbara dates are relatively firmer than other varieties of dates. So they are best enjoyed at room temperature or in cooked dishes. Do not eat them fresh out of the fridge, it may hurt your teeth and the taste won’t be as good. You will also not be able to get the full flavour if you eat them straight out of the fridge.
